august knight
Canadian singer-songwriter August Knight is hell-bent on dragging road-worn, ragged alt-folk and outlaw country back into the spotlight—where it belongs. Gritty, weathered, and fearless, Knight is a natural-born storyteller who sings from the scar, not the wound. His voice—gravel-laced and unfiltered—carries the bruised honesty of a man who’s lived it, lost it, and found something worth saying.
Drawing deep from the well of John Prine, Kris Kristofferson, and Townes Van Zandt, with flashes of Steve Earle, Bruce Springsteen, and even the raw spirit of Jimi Hendrix, Knight’s sound isn’t polished—it’s carved out of dirt, heartbreak, and truth.
“I’ve always gravitated to the grittier, dirtier side of country and folk,” Knight says. “I was raised on rock 'n' roll and rebellion, and that edge has never left me. I’m not chasing tempo—I’m chasing the feeling. That brooding, sonic embrace that grips you and doesn’t let go.”
THE AMERICANA PROJECT
A stripped-down, soul-drenched evening of original acoustic music and tributes to the artists who lit the fire—Bob Dylan, John Mellencamp, Woody Guthrie, The Band, Jerry Jeff Walker, Guy Clark, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and more. The setlist is a love letter to the legends and a reckoning with Knight’s own haunted truths.
MORE THAN MUSIC
Knight’s creativity doesn’t stop with the mic. He’s also a visual artist whose Eternal Symbols and Toronto Rocks collections—laser-engraved portraits on hard maple—capture cultural icons and local music heroes with punk grit and poetic reverence. His art has been showcased across Ontario and is part of a growing grassroots movement to honour music through mixed media.
Knight is also the author of A Journey on Gentle Wings—a meditative, soul-searching work—and When the Horses Run Free, a raw and reflective collection of lyrics and lived moments.
Whether through strings, ink, or fire, August Knight is a one-man movement carving out space for meaning, memory, and music that matters.
